Structures Cost Estimator & Constructability Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a senior Structures Cost Estimator / Constructability Specialist who can translate deep construction knowledge into accurate estimates, risk analyses, and constructability reviews for heavy‑civil infrastructure projects. The role is remote, part‑time eligible, and ideal for professionals who want to shift from daily field emergencies to strategic planning.

Key responsibilities

• Develop conceptual, historical, and production‑based cost estimates for structural heavy highway and civil projects.
• Maintain up‑to‑date pricing knowledge by coordinating with industry contacts.
• Provide cost control strategies, forecasting, constructability reviews, and risk analysis throughout project lifecycles.
• Maintain organized files of estimates and supporting documentation for project execution.
• Assist clients and project teams with pre‑ and post‑letting estimating services, plan development, and change‑order negotiations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, or a related field with at least 7 years of relevant experience, or 15 years of direct experience in structural heavy‑civil estimating, construction management, or field engineering.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with project teams and owners’ representatives.
• Strong knowledge of state and local construction specifications.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid or comparable estimating software applications.
