Structures CAD Technician

About the role

Horrocks is seeking a Structures CAD Technician to support its structural engineers on heavy civil and municipal projects. The role involves creating detailed construction documents and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver accurate design packages.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed structural drawings and construction documents for civil and municipal projects.
• Develop plans, sections, details, and schedules for concrete vaults, culverts, storage tanks, retaining walls, foundations, and other components.
• Draft structural elements for roadway, site civil, federal, and municipal projects.
• Assist with quantity takeoffs and cost estimate preparation.
• Revise drawings based on engineer mark‑ups and QA/QC reviews.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure proper integration of structural elements.
• Support smaller projects by coordinating staff and design efforts.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree or technical certification in Drafting, CAD Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3 to 7 years of experience in structural or civil drafting.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in MicroStation.
• Experience with Bentley software such as OpenRoads, OpenBridge, and STAAD.
