Sterile Processing Educator

About the role

Ochsner Health seeks a Sterile Processing Educator to lead education and quality assessments for the Sterile Processing Department. You will develop training programs, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and support staff competency to maintain high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, plan, implement and evaluate educational programs for Sterile Processing staff.
• Provide comprehensive orientation and ongoing training for new and existing personnel.
• Maintain departmental education records and conduct quarterly audits for regulatory compliance.
• Oversee quality and infection‑control initiatives within the department.
• Prepare staff for national certification examinations and deliver in‑service training on new products and equipment.

Required profile

• High School diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years experience leading teams, with at least 2 years in sterile processing or surgical tech roles.
• Certification as CRCST, CSPDT, or CST required within two years of hire.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using an instrument tracking system (e.g., ABACUS).
