Standardized Participant – Temporary (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

The Standardized Participant supports the Nursing Department by portraying scripted patients, family members, or healthcare providers in simulation scenarios. This temporary, work‑study position helps ensure realistic training experiences for nursing students.

Key responsibilities

• Perform clerical functions related to simulation center management and maintain a professional, safe environment.
• Portray scripted roles (patient, family member, provider, etc.) during simulation exercises.
• Assist faculty in monitoring student safety throughout simulations.
• Provide subjective feedback to learners during debriefing sessions.
• Assist with post‑simulation activities, including documentation and equipment reset.

Required profile

• No specific education required; prior experience as a standardized participant is preferred.
• Ability to follow scripts accurately and maintain confidentiality.
• Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal communication.
