Staff Supplier Engineer

About the role

The Staff Supplier Engineer will be a key member of the development team, designing, developing, and validating manufacturing solutions for direct material components and assemblies in the Robotics & Digital Solutions franchise.

Key responsibilities

• Own development, characterization, and validation of plastics components and sub‑assembly processes at suppliers for new product development and sustaining production.
• Lead scale‑up of supplier manufacturing processes to production quantities.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Manufacturing Engineering, R&D, Purchasing, Quality, Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance) to provide optimized technical solutions.
• Apply engineering principles, world‑class manufacturing techniques, statistics, and risk management to resolve complex challenges.
• Drive supplier performance improvement using Six Sigma, Lean, SPC and negotiation.
• Support corrective actions and root‑cause analysis for supplier processes.

Required profile

• BS degree in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7 years experience in a regulated industry, preferably medical devices.
• Strong knowledge of component/assembly manufacturing process development and production validation.
• Experience with supplier management, qualification, and process improvement.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements (21 CFR 820, ISO 13485) and quality tools (FMEA, SPC, capability analysis).
