About the role

ESPN's Communications Department is looking for a versatile Staff Photographer to join the ESPN Images team at its Bristol, Connecticut campus. The role blends studio portrait work, live‑event coverage, and video‑production support, delivering high‑impact visual content for communications, marketing, and broadcast needs.

Key responsibilities

• Execute studio, portrait, and campus photography assignments, including talent headshots and event coverage.
• Set up, operate, and maintain professional lighting, backdrops, and camera systems in the ESPN Images studio.
• Capture live‑event and sports imagery, traveling intermittently to shoots and delivering files in real time via FTP.
• Process, caption (IPTC), and manage digital assets within the organized library.
• Assist communications video shoots, handling camera operation, lighting, and on‑set photography.
• Collaborate with communications, Images, and social media teams to meet rapid turnaround requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Photography, Visual Communications, Journalism, or equivalent professional experience.
• Demonstrated portfolio showing expertise in both studio and live‑event environments.
• Ability to thrive in fast‑paced, high‑pressure settings while maintaining broadcast‑quality standards.

Required skills

• Professional DSLR/mirrorless camera systems (Sony preferred).
• Adobe Photoshop and Photomechanic proficiency.
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong studio lighting techniques (strobe, continuous, natural).
• IPTC captioning and real‑time FTP file delivery.
• Video production support skills, including camera operation and lighting setup.
