Staff Pharmacist – Austin, TX

About the role

Amazon Pharmacy is seeking a Staff Pharmacist to join its Austin team. You will help customers obtain their medications quickly, safely, and affordably through a blend of clinical expertise and automated dispensing technology.

Key responsibilities

• Perform clinical data review, prescription verification, and virtual patient consultations in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Manage end‑to‑end prescription fulfillment using Parata Max2 automated systems and manual fill processes.
• Package and prepare prescriptions for shipment, including refrigerated and bulk items.
• Maintain strict quality and safety standards while meeting Critical Pull Times (CPT) and production targets.
• Conduct thorough Drug Utilization Reviews (DUR) and document accurately in pharmacy systems.
• Monitor and manage pharmacy inventory in a compliant manner.
• Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and fellow pharmacists to ensure efficient workflow.
• Support operational excellence initiatives and report quality or safety concerns promptly.
• Handle daily operational tasks such as returns, medication rejects, therapeutic substitutions, and canister approvals.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD degree.
• Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of employment.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws and federal/state regulations.
• Ability to work Sunday‑Wednesday 10‑hour shifts starting at 7:00 am.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to adapt to a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows desktop environment.
• Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Familiarity with web browsers such as Internet Explorer and Firefox.
• Operation of Parata Max2 automated dispensing system.
• Use of pharmacy inventory and prescription management software.
