Staff Industrial Engineer – Sustainment Analytics

About the role

The Staff Industrial Engineer will lead data‑driven sustainment analytics for fielded aircraft systems, integrating maintenance, reliability, supply‑chain and operational data to guide decisions that improve fleet readiness and lower lifecycle cost.

Key responsibilities

• Own sustainment decision analysis for fielded aircraft, including maintenance‑level determinations, repair‑versus‑replace assessments, spares optimization and manpower analysis.
• Build and maintain integrated fleet‑readiness models linking reliability, maintainability, demand, repair turnaround, inventory, labor and cost to readiness outcomes.
• Develop repair‑versus‑replace and repair‑network business cases evaluating discard, depot, field and supplier repair options.
• Analyze maintenance records, work orders and failure history to identify recurring burdens, capacity constraints and high‑value sustainment opportunities.
• Produce demand forecasts, spares recommendations and provisioning strategies based on failure rates, consumption history and operational tempo.
• Evaluate investments in support equipment, tooling and facilities by quantifying capacity, utilization, risk reduction and total lifecycle value.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Operations Research, Data Analytics or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in industrial engineering, sustainment, logistics, supportability or similar complex hardware‑support environments.
• Demonstrated experience using maintenance, reliability, repair, inventory or fleet‑operations data to develop quantitative recommendations.
• Experience conducting repair‑versus‑replace, make‑versus‑buy or comparable sustainment trade studies.
• Strong ability to translate technical analyses into clear recommendations for senior leadership.
