Staff Engineer

As a Staff Engineer (PE) for Water Resources, you will work on large, multi‑discipline transportation projects, developing a diverse engineering skill set.

Key responsibilities

• Perform hydrology and hydraulic design work for DOT projects such as bridges, roadways, highways, and freeways.
• Prepare studies, reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a wide variety of transportation projects.
• Collaborate with project managers, design engineers, technicians, and support staff to successfully complete projects.
• Take ownership of project tasks from start to finish.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 4–10+ years of civil design experience (preferred).
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) required.
• Willingness to work on projects locally or in work‑share with other offices.
• Proven history of meeting project deadlines and budgets.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented professional with strong organizational skills.
• Desire to grow personally and professionally while working in a team environment.
