Sr. Manager, MTO Operational Engineering

About the role

The Senior Manager, MTO Operational Engineering leads technical initiatives that scale manufacturing processes across Alcon’s global network. Based initially in Fort Worth, the role blends hands‑on engineering with cross‑functional collaboration to deliver compliant, cost‑effective solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and resolve complex manufacturing, design, quality, and materials issues.
• Develop, implement, and assess new production materials, equipment, and technologies.
• Conduct manufacturing R&D to improve cost and quality, performing feasibility tests.
• Select vendors, define specifications, and ensure on‑time, budget‑compliant delivery.
• Standardize processes, material selection, design changes, and supplier management to generate savings.
• Establish standard operating procedures, operator training, and equipment maintenance schedules.
• Lead multiple engineering projects, manage cross‑functional stakeholders, and allocate resources.
• Oversee project and operational budgets, including contractors and external partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience.
• Fluent English communication skills (read, write, speak).
• Willingness to travel up to 15% and relocate if needed.
