Sr. Embedded Software Engineer

About the role

Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies are seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to develop and verify software stacks for PCBAs and ECUs across next‑generation vehicle platforms. You will create device drivers, prototype hardware‑software co‑designs, and build validation test cases using C and Python.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy embedded software on Linux and/or RTOS for board bring‑up, verification, and debugging of automotive electronics.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality code, prioritize issues, and meet tight deadlines.
• Debug real‑time interactions across software and hardware stacks, using tools such as Lauterbach, oscilloscopes, JTAG, and flashing utilities.
• Communicate clearly with peers, stakeholders, customers, and technical leaders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong C programming experience; Python is a plus.
• Solid understanding of RTOS fundamentals and good debugging skills.
• Hands‑on experience with hardware debugging tools (Lauterbach, oscilloscope, JTAG, flashing tools).
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or shell.
