Software Engineering Lead – Cloud & AI Platform

About the role

We are a well‑funded Bay Area startup building AI‑powered developer tools for complex enterprise software. As a Software Engineering Lead you will define architecture, set standards, and deliver end‑to‑end solutions across cloud, data, and application layers while working closely with customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement secure, scalable cloud systems on AWS/Azure, using IaC (Terraform or CDK) and robust observability (metrics, tracing, logs, SLOs).
• Lead the development of Node.js and TypeScript services, integrating Postgres and vector databases (pgvector, Pinecone, Milvus) for retrieval‑augmented generation.
• Architect and orchestrate AI‑driven agent workflows; familiarity with LangGraph is a plus.
• Drive DevOps practices: CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or GitLab CI), automated testing, trunk‑based development, Docker containerization, and release management.
• Apply AI tools to improve development, testing, data handling, and support processes.

• Total compensation ranging from $240k to $400k, with a base salary of $160k–$250k plus meaningful founding equity.
