Software Engineer II (Java/React)

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer II to join the Business Banking division of JPMorgan Chase. In this role you will work within an agile team to design, develop and maintain secure, stable and scalable software components that power the firm’s technology products.

Key responsibilities

• Write secure, high‑quality code in Java and React.js with limited guidance.
• Design, develop, test and troubleshoot micro‑services, REST APIs and Kafka integrations.
• Collaborate with upstream and downstream teams to ensure technical compatibility.
• Apply SDLC tools and automation to improve development efficiency.
• Analyze large data sets to identify issues and support decision‑making.
• Contribute to a diverse and inclusive team culture.

Required profile

• Formal training or certification in software engineering.
• At least 2 years of hands‑on experience in system design, application development and operational stability.
• Solid understanding of the software development life‑cycle and agile practices.
• Ability to learn and apply new technologies and processes.

Required skills

• Java, Spring Boot, REST API, Kafka, Microservices.
• React.js (front‑end development).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and application resiliency.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS) and infrastructure as code (Terraform) – preferred.
• Comfort using AI‑assisted development tools – preferred.
