Software Development Engineer II – Authentication Management

About the role

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Security is building a next‑generation Authentication Management System to protect Amazon’s digital and physical resources. As a Software Development Engineer II you will design, develop, and operate large‑scale, highly reliable services that safeguard customer and corporate data.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a scalable authentication management platform.
• Collaborate with leadership to influence engineering and business decisions affecting the Amazon developer experience.
• Contribute across the full software development lifecycle: design, coding, documentation, deployment, and operations.
• Participate in on‑call rotations, troubleshooting incidents and improving system fault tolerance.
• Work closely with a diverse team of engineers to deliver high‑impact security solutions.

Required profile

• Strong fundamentals in object‑oriented design, algorithms, data structures, and advanced systems concepts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self‑driven, results‑oriented, and comfortable collaborating with talented peers.
