Senior Technical Program Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead the integration of hardware and software across the development life‑cycle for the next generation of electric vehicles. The role sits within the Technical Program Management team of the Rivian‑Volkswagen joint venture, partnering with both Rivian and Volkswagen Group brand program teams to deliver critical software product programs.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, create and maintain technical schedules, priorities and execution plans for multiple software development programs that span organizational boundaries.
• Drive cross‑functional software initiatives internally and with external partners, ensuring alignment with engineering, product and technical leadership.
• Manage stakeholder expectations, identify and mitigate dependencies and risks, and provide regular progress updates to program teams and executive management.
• Facilitate healthy escalations before deliverables fall out of scope and lead continuous process‑improvement activities.
• Ensure technical designs are evaluated for feasibility, scalability and quality, and unblock obstacles that impede progress.

Required profile

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience and at least 6 years of technical or engineering program management experience.
• Proven track record in software development project planning, progress tracking and risk management.
• Experience with systems engineering principles, hardware and/or software development lifecycles, and test and validation processes.
