Senior Software Engineer – Secure Backend & Compliance

About the role

You will lead the development of secure backend systems that protect critical industrial infrastructure. The role combines real‑time sensor pipeline management, edge‑compute inference, and the establishment of industry‑leading security and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and scale secure backend services in Python or Go to process high‑volume, real‑time sensor data and ML inference at the edge.
• Lead the technical implementation of SOC2 Type 2 and ISO 27001 certification programs for enterprise partners.
• Establish robust infrastructure security practices, including IAM policies, data encryption, and secure SDLC processes across cloud and hardware environments.
• Collaborate with a lean, elite team to define architectural direction and respond to production or security incidents.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in backend architecture and high‑performance service development.
• Proven track record owning compliance audits (SOC2/ISO) and implementing security controls at fast‑growing startups.
• Willingness to work onsite in San Francisco five days a week and handle high‑agency, production‑grade challenges.
