Senior Software Engineer, Java

About the role

Clear is building the secure identity platform of the future and is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, test, and deploy full‑stack applications that power its identity services across travel, enterprise, healthcare, and financial sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and launch scalable full‑stack applications using Java, React and TypeScript.
• Own projects from technical discovery and architecture through implementation, rollout and operational support.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Data, Security and Operations to translate business problems into simple, reliable solutions.
• Improve system reliability, performance, testing, observability and developer experience.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and continuously enhance scalability, security and maintainability.
• Mentor teammates through code reviews, technical collaboration and best‑practice sharing.

Required profile

• 6+ years of professional full‑stack software engineering experience.
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, APIs, cloud infrastructure and modern software architecture.
• Proven ability to own complex, cross‑functional projects and drive them to production.
• Excellent communication skills and comfort working in ambiguous environments.
• Collaborative mindset with a passion for mentoring and continuous improvement.
