Senior Software Engineer - Air Traffic Solutions (Onsite)

About the role

Join the Connected Aviation – Air Traffic Solutions team at Collins Aerospace, a division of RTX, to design, develop, and support safety‑of‑life air traffic management software used worldwide. This senior position focuses on delivering high‑quality components for civil and military air traffic control systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software packaged into ATMS products.
• Create and update documentation and work instructions to meet high‑maturity engineering standards.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, backlog grooming, and story pointing.
• Collaborate with an integrated engineering team, program management, and external stakeholders.
• Support the full software development lifecycle, including design, integration, testing, and validation.

Required profile

• STEM degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 3 years of experience.
• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
• Proven experience developing, integrating, testing, and validating software in a Unix/Linux environment.
• Hands‑on experience with the complete SDLC using Java or C/C++.

Required skills

• Java and/or C/C++ programming.
• Unix/Linux development environment.
• Containerization technologies (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes).
• Scripting with Bash and Python.
• Agile software development practices.
