Senior Software Developer, Mobile (iOS), Platforms and Devices

About the role

Google is seeking a Senior Software Developer to join its Platforms and Devices team, focusing on mobile iOS applications and emerging XR devices. The role will contribute to building large-scale, AI-augmented experiences that run on Google’s first-party hardware.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance iOS applications using C++, Objective-C and Swift.
• Architect large-scale software components that integrate with Google AI and XR platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across hardware, AI, and UI to deliver end-to-end product features.
• Test, debug, and launch software releases, ensuring reliability and accessibility.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical leadership within the team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of professional programming experience in C++, Objective-C and Swift.
• Minimum 3 years of experience testing, maintaining or launching software products.
• 1 year of experience designing large-scale application architecture.
• 3 years of dedicated iOS application development.
• Preferred: Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, 5 years of data-structures and algorithms experience, 1 year in a technical leadership role, and experience building accessible technologies.
