Senior Project Manager II – Health Care Design/Construction

About the role

The Senior Project Manager II leads large‑scale renovation, tenant fit‑out and capital renewal projects for Johns Hopkins health facilities. The role oversees all phases from initiation through close‑out, ensuring projects meet budget, schedule, safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage renovation, tenant fit‑out and capital renewal projects up to and exceeding $20M.
• Coordinate with architecture, finance, engineering, clinical engineering and other partner departments.
• Provide regular status, budget and schedule updates to internal teams and client representatives.
• Mentor and train project management staff and interns.
• Evaluate and implement alternative delivery methods such as Design/Build and Integrated Project Delivery.
• Develop project milestone schedules, review program requirements, and incorporate economic inclusion goals.
• Maintain project documentation, including budgets, design documents, RFIs, submittals and invoicing.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, JHHS design standards, safety regulations and sustainable practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering all aspects of health‑care construction projects.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience managing tight timelines, complex logistics and fixed budgets.
