Senior Mechanical Repair Technician

About the role

Paragon Technologies, a SunSource company, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Repair Technician to join its Warren, MI facility. The role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and testing a wide range of gearboxes and electric motors for diverse industrial customers.

Key responsibilities

• Repair all major brands of gearboxes.
• Repair, test, and diagnose failures of electric motors.
• Remove and install bearings and perform precision measurements using calipers and micrometers.
• Use multimeters to verify electrical functionality.
• Visually inspect gears and determine pass/fail status.

Required profile

• Proven experience with mechanical equipment and repairs.
• Own basic hand tools and be highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of mechanical drawings.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a drug screening and background check.

Required skills

• Gearbox repair and maintenance.
• Electric motor repair and testing.
• Bearing removal and installation.
• Precision measurement using calipers and micrometers.
• Multimeter operation for electrical diagnostics.
• Visual gear inspection.
• Reading mechanical prints.
• Root cause analysis (preferred).
• Overhead crane operation.
• Computer proficiency with Word, Excel, and email.
