Job description
About the role
Anthropic is rapidly expanding its data‑center capacity and needs a senior engineer to ensure that power and cooling equipment is manufactured defect‑free. You will work directly in OEM and integrator factories, qualifying suppliers, defining quality requirements, and overseeing factory acceptance testing to guarantee that every component ships ready for installation.
Key responsibilities

- Translate engineering specifications into supplier‑facing inspection and test plans (ITPs), acceptance criteria, and documentation deliverables.
- Partner with Strategic Sourcing to embed quality requirements and Supplier Quality Agreements into RFPs and contracts.
- Plan, witness, and sign off factory acceptance tests (FATs) for electrical gear (switchgear, UPS, transformers, generators, busway, PDUs) and mechanical systems (chillers, CDUs, CRAH/fan walls, pumps, piping skids).
- Conduct in‑process and pre‑shipment inspections, verify build‑to‑print conformance, labeling, and traceability.
- Own non‑conformance (NCR) and deviation processes, drive corrective actions to closure, and ensure complete, installation‑ready equipment shipment.
Required profile
- Senior‑level manufacturing quality engineer with hands‑on experience in data‑center power or cooling equipment.
- Proven ability to work independently across engineering, sourcing, construction, and commissioning teams.
- Strong analytical mindset focused on defect prevention at the source.
- Excellent communication skills for interfacing with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

- Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
- Inspection & Test Plans (ITP) development
- Non‑conformance (NCR) management
