Senior Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Seasats builds unmanned surface vessels for defense, scientific and commercial customers. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will design and implement tooling, equipment, and process controls that enable rapid, reliable production of complex maritime systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design and fabricate jigs, fixtures, and tooling; select and integrate manufacturing and test equipment.
• Collaborate with hardware, electrical and software teams to develop process controls and test methods that verify functional requirements.
• Provide on‑floor engineering support during builds and new‑product introductions, troubleshooting mechanical, electrical and harness issues.
• Source, qualify and manage vendors for tooling and equipment to ensure timely, quality delivery.
• Lead continuous‑improvement activities, including process validation, root‑cause analysis and integration of new automation technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, mechanical, industrial engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of manufacturing or design experience; aerospace, defense or maritime background a plus.
• Proven ability to work in fast‑growth, high‑pace environments and to build solid production foundations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software, preferably SolidWorks.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and ability to produce tooling and fixture drawings.
• Experience analyzing material flow, Kanban systems and pull‑based production.
• Hands‑on experience with manufacturing and inspection equipment.
• Software scripting experience (e.g., Python) – a plus.
