Senior Manager, Technical Accounting – M&A & Investments

About the role

Anthropic is seeking a Senior Manager to lead technical accounting for mergers, acquisitions, strategic investments and other complex capital transactions. Reporting to the Senior Director, you will be a key resource shaping deal structures and ensuring accurate financial reporting under US GAAP.

Key responsibilities

• Execute technical accounting for business combinations, asset acquisitions, joint ventures and related financing/equity structures.
• Partner with Corporate Development to influence deal terms and outcomes.
• Perform accounting due diligence and advise on GAAP, control and earnings implications.
• Manage end‑to‑end purchase accounting, including consideration measurement and goodwill recognition.
• Lead post‑close integration accounting, system onboarding, working‑capital true‑ups and earn‑out remeasurement.
• Assess consolidation and investment classification, including VIE analysis and equity‑method accounting.
• Oversee third‑party valuation specialists and review PPA, intangible‑asset valuations and impairment analyses.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in technical accounting for business combinations and investments.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and related financial‑statement impact.
• Proven ability to work closely with Corporate Development, Legal, Tax, Treasury, FP&A and senior leadership.
• Experience managing third‑party valuation specialists and reviewing valuation analyses.
