Senior Forward Deployed Engineer – Implementation Focus

About the role

Second Front Systems seeks an operationally experienced, technically rigorous Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to lead complex federal implementations of the Game Warden platform. The role owns technical success of high‑visibility deployments, establishes implementation standards, and translates field friction into platform improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Own technical strategy and execution for the most complex customer deployment implementations, including first‑of‑kind and multi‑agency rollouts.
• Build internal enablement materials and technical playbooks for the Implementation team.
• Continuously improve onboarding and support processes by identifying systemic friction and delivering tooling, documentation, or automation solutions.
• Lead onboarding of customer applications into Game Warden for security scanning, handling legacy architectures and unusual dependency chains.
• Partner with Product and Platform Engineering to feed implementation insights into the roadmap and architect cloud‑based deployments across AWS, GCP, and Azure.

Required profile

• 8–10+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, cloud engineering, or implementation/deployment engineering with ownership of production‑grade deployments.
• Advanced Linux installation, troubleshooting, and hardening expertise at scale.
• Deep knowledge of DevSecOps tooling and practices, and experience building onboarding processes.
• Strong communication skills under pressure and proven mentorship of other engineers.
• Eligibility for DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance and ability to travel up to 25%.
