Senior Electrical Engineer – MEP Projects

About the role

The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead MEP design for industrial, municipal and water‑treatment facilities. You will act as a technical leader, delivering power distribution, lighting, communications and fire protection solutions while mentoring junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop electrical design calculations, one‑line diagrams, control schematics, plans and specifications for complex projects.
• Review manufacturer data, ensure compliance with NEC and project specifications, and assist with cost estimating and code review.
• Provide construction support by reviewing equipment submittals, shop drawings, and responding to contractor RFIs.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, delegate work, and guide junior staff in professional development.
• Perform field investigations, write reports and memos, and contribute to project documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• PE license or ability to obtain PE within one year of hire.
• 10+ years of electrical engineering experience, preferably in MEP and water‑treatment projects.
• Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and its application.
