Senior Construction Manager, Special Projects

About the role

The Senior Construction Manager, Special Projects leads the execution of strategic reinvestment and special construction initiatives across Bagel Brands’ national bakery‑cafe portfolio. You will oversee remodels, relocations, brand conversions, acquisition conversions, and multi‑site rollouts, ensuring each project supports operational excellence, guest experience, and long‑term growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multiple simultaneous construction and reinvestment projects from scoping through closeout.
• Manage all phases including due diligence, design, entitlement, permitting, construction, turnover, and post‑completion.
• Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to company standards.
• Identify value‑add reinvestment opportunities that improve efficiency, guest experience, and asset performance.
• Assist in evaluating acquisition opportunities with focus on facility conditions and capital implications.
• Build and maintain capital expenditure tracking models and support budget preparation for leadership review.
• Direct day‑to‑day execution activities, coordinate contractors, resolve issues, and oversee construction quality.
• Manage external architects, consultants, contractors, vendors, and turnkey partners.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large‑scale construction projects in the retail or food‑service sector.
• Strong cross‑functional partnership and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to drive projects safely, efficiently, and with continuous improvement focus.
• Excellent analytical and financial modeling capabilities.
