Senior Cloud Backend Developer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Cloud Backend Developer to lead the design and implementation of our connected‑EV platform. You will own the core cloud infrastructure that powers our fleet of electric vehicles, ensuring high performance, security, and scalability.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and build secure, scalable backend systems for IoT data ingestion and product‑facing APIs.
• Improve core cloud components such as API design, database schemas, event handling, observability, and deployment pipelines.
• Develop shared services including API gateways, caching layers, and schema migration tools.
• Integrate external services and partner platforms via data and API connections.
• Strengthen platform security and privacy, implementing authentication and authorization mechanisms.
• Design high‑availability and geographically redundant systems for global deployments.
• Ensure production readiness with automated testing, performance monitoring, and safe deployment practices.
• Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and contribute to hiring and best‑practice processes.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience building and scaling backend systems, including remote device lifecycle management.
• Proven ability to design, ship, and operate production services from scratch.
• Experience with cloud‑native architectures and event‑driven design.
• Strong track record of delivering reliable, high‑performance services in fast‑moving environments.

• API design (REST, GraphQL)
• Schema design and data exchange (gRPC, JSON‑RPC)
• Message‑queueing and event streaming (Kafka, Redis, Amazon SQS/SNS, pub/sub patterns)
• Authentication/authorization protocols (OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, SAML, mTLS)
• IoT communication protocols (MQTT, CoAP)
• Device lifecycle management and telemetry pipelines
