Senior Backend Developer

About the role

Stefanini Group is seeking an experienced Senior Backend Developer to design, build, and operate high‑performance APIs and microservices. The role is based in Dearborn, MI and focuses on cloud‑native solutions and robust server‑side architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend applications, APIs, and microservices using Java, Python, C# or Kotlin.
• Deploy, monitor, and secure applications in cloud (GCP) or on‑prem environments.
• Manage data storage with Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB and ensure efficient retrieval.
• Promote test‑driven development, CI/CD pipelines, and continuous delivery practices.
• Participate in technical design and architecture discussions to ensure reliability and scalability.
• Support production systems, including performance tuning, security hardening, and disaster recovery.

Required profile

• 10+ years of overall IT experience with 8+ years of hands‑on software engineering.
• Strong expertise in Kotlin; Java experience is a plus.
• Proven experience building distributed or service‑based systems.
• Hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform or equivalent cloud environments.
• Solid background in Test‑Driven Development, automated testing, and regular refactoring.
