Senior Accountant

About the role

As a Senior Accountant you will maintain accurate financial records, ensure proper recording of transactions, and reconcile subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger. You will prepare complex balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports while analyzing costs and revenues to forecast future performance. You may also guide lower‑level accountants.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, statements, and assist with monthly closing and accounting reports.
• Maintain and coordinate implementation of accounting and control procedures.
• Resolve billing, inventory, costing, and other accounting discrepancies.
• Prepare general ledger reconciliations and explain variances against trends, budgets, and prior year.
• Monitor accounting system reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Interact with internal and external auditors to complete audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (required).
• Professional qualification such as CIMA, ACA, ACCA, ICAEW or CPA (preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience; 5 years preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accounting theory, financial record‑keeping and reporting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
