Security Professional Flex Officer

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a Security Professional Flex Officer in Livermore, California. The officer serves and safeguards clients in industries such as healthcare, education and finance. Shifts are chosen through a shift-pickup platform, so you can build a schedule around your availability, and the role offers hands-on site experience. Irregular shifts with little to no advance notice may be required.

Key responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in case of fire or unauthorized persons
• Warn violators of rules such as loitering, smoking or carrying forbidden articles
• Permit authorized persons to enter, monitor entrances and exits, and observe departing personnel to prevent theft
• Investigate and report accidents, incidents and suspicious activity, keeping written logs as required
• Aid customers, employees and visitors courteously and make emergency notifications as needed

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience; no prior experience required
• At least 18 years old (21 if armed)
• Valid driver's license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle
• Subject to a background investigation and a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
• Licensing may be required depending on state and local laws

Required skills

• Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
• Effective oral and written communication, active listening and problem-solving
• Ability to mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy
• Preferred: multilingual ability (Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic) and prior security, military or law enforcement experience
