Security Engineer

About the role

Sierra is building a platform for customer‑facing AI agents and needs a Security Engineer to embed security, privacy, and safety into every product. You will work across product, platform, and infrastructure teams to make security a core capability.

Key responsibilities

• Design and ship systems that make Sierra secure by default, covering product, infrastructure, enterprise, identity, and detection & response.
• Partner with product and platform teams to threat‑model designs, review code and architectures, and evolve security primitives.
• Identify vulnerabilities, investigate suspicious behavior, and improve detection and response workflows across cloud, identity, endpoints, and internal systems.
• Build developer‑friendly tooling to automate security checks in CI/CD, create secure paved paths, and enhance vulnerability discovery.
• Turn findings into systemic fixes and controls that prevent entire classes of issues.

Required profile

• Deep security expertise in at least one domain such as product, platform, enterprise, identity, or detection & response.
• Product and platform mindset that balances security with usability, performance, and innovation.
• Strong software engineering skills: comfortable reading/writing code, building APIs, services, and security controls.
• Curiosity and ownership: able to take ambiguous, cross‑cutting problems from first principles to production.
