Security Engineer – Application Security

About the role

The Security Team at Sentry protects customers, code, and infrastructure. As a Security Engineer you will work across application and platform security, shaping secure‑by‑design practices and influencing product development from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Support and mature Sentry’s security review program, including secure code, architecture reviews and threat modeling.
• Drive vulnerability management processes: intake, triage, remediation tracking and support bug bounty and responsible disclosure programs.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to embed secure‑by‑design principles and integrate security tooling into CI/CD pipelines.
• Validate and reproduce application and infrastructure findings through scanning, manual testing and penetration‑testing support.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience designing, building or securing complex applications and cloud systems.
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication with a collaborative problem‑solving approach.

Required skills

• Security reviews, threat modeling, vulnerability management, secure CI/CD.
• Programming proficiency in Python, Typescript, Go or Rust.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform).

What we offer

• Base salary range $155,000 – $400,000 per year.
