Security Chief

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Security Chief for a position on Kauai, HI. Reporting to the Security and Emergency Services Manager, this non-union manager oversees the administration, training and supervision of the Security Guard Department, which covers patrolling and installation entry control, emergency security responses, hazardous material response, cordon and natural disaster response, resource protection, crime prevention, missile launch support and personnel development.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all Security Guard functions and supervise pre-incident planning, policies and procedures
• Ensure personnel perform their duties, are properly assigned and have the required equipment maintained
• Protect the life and security of assigned personnel and enforce discipline to keep the force efficient
• Manage a workforce of over 65 people on a 24-hour, three-shift operation
• Coordinate with command, local and state police agencies and act as point of contact for police and security agencies
• Work with the Security and Emergency Services Manager to identify and complete all Statement of Work requirements

Required profile

• 10 years as a principal supervisor or manager in an operation of similar size and scope to the Pacific Missile Range Facility, plus at least 7 years in an organized security or police department
• Valid Hawaii driver's license
• Ability to lift over 50 lbs and work extended hours in confined areas and the field
• Associate degree in Business Administration, Police Science or a related field, or 7 years of supervisory experience in security or police in lieu of a degree
• Secret security clearance required; applicants must be U.S. citizens and hold or obtain a clearance before starting

• Training: Fall Protection/Tower Rescue, Information Assurance, CPR AED and First Aid, NSF Apprentice Training, Physical Readiness Test
