Scrum Master (Application Development)

About the role

OnTrac is seeking a Scrum Master to act as the dedicated Agile facilitator and servant leader for a Google Cloud Platform application development engagement. The role is fully remote, based in the United States, and starts as soon as possible; candidates must be located in and authorized to work in the U.S. for the full duration. It is a high-bar role for a proven practitioner who owns outcomes such as predictable delivery, team health and client confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review and Retrospectives, keeping them time-boxed and valuable.
• Coach the team, Product Owner and stakeholders on Agile principles and Scrum, and baseline Agile maturity at the start of the engagement.
• Proactively remove impediments, escalate unresolved ones within 24 hours with options and a recommended path.
• Track velocity, capacity, flow metrics and team health to drive continuous improvement.
• Contribute to PI Planning, iteration planning, System Demos and Inspect and Adapt, and prepare teams for PI Planning with a dependency-mapped backlog.
• Support the Product Owner in refining the backlog, prioritizing by business value and keeping at least two sprints of ready work.
• Support demos and working sessions, hold regular one-to-one touch points with client sponsors and report sprint progress and risks to the PMO.
• Maintain RAID logs, risk and scope change tracking, and deliver a one-page sprint summary.
• Keep Jira and Confluence boards accurate, publish reusable Agile assets each quarter, and forecast delivery probabilistically.
• Partner with architects and engineers on Google Cloud delivery practices such as CI/CD and automated testing, and mentor junior Scrum Masters.

Required profile

• Proven Scrum Master practitioner, comfortable working independently with minimal oversight.
• Customer-facing: primary voice to the client on Agile delivery, presenting to senior stakeholders in a billable, project-based consulting environment.
• Organized, empathetic, analytical and accountable, able to anticipate risks and decisions ahead of others.
• Able to balance multiple engagements and manage time and priorities without direction.
