School Nurse – Student Health & Education

About the role

The school nurse provides health education, counseling, and emergency care to students during school hours. This position works closely with teachers and staff to maintain a safe and healthy learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver classroom instruction and individual health education to students.
• Provide emergency care for illness or injury according to standard first‑aid guidelines.
• Maintain accurate health records and documentation.
• Collaborate with teachers and school personnel to interpret student health status.
• Assist in establishing, managing, and evaluating a comprehensive school health program.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship.
• Active, unrestricted RN license (BSN required) and successful NCLEX completion.
• Eligibility for background investigation, Tier 1 childcare check, and random drug testing.
• Ability to meet selective service certification (for applicable male applicants).
