Scaffold Builder Lead

About the role

The Scaffold Builder Lead directs a crew in the Foreman's absence and is responsible for directing personnel in the safe execution of the site-specific scope of work outlined in the contract documents, according to sketches or blueprints and in line with client, OSHA and company standards. The position reports to the Foreman.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure work continues safely and efficiently in the Foreman's absence.
• Erect and dismantle scaffolds in accordance with industry standards, manufacturer, OSHA, Apache and client requirements, and inspect every scaffold component before use.
• Inspect completed scaffolds thoroughly before tagging and update scaffold tags at the start of each shift.
• Install ladders, handrails, platforms and catwalks needed to access the work area.
• Transport materials to the site and lift them to the required height.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and good housekeeping throughout the project.
• Communicate regularly with the Field Foreman about issues and concerns on site.
• Wear all required PPE and use fall protection for yourself, tools and materials.

Required profile

• Minimum 3-4 years of scaffold experience.
• Minimum 1 year of experience with Apache.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Able to follow verbal directions, work unsupervised, and perform heavy lifting, kneeling, squatting and climbing.
• Able to work for extended periods, in noisy environments and around hazardous machinery.

Required skills

• Ability to give clear and concise instructions to multiple employees.
• Ability to interpret erection drawings.
• Ability to maintain basic field equipment such as air compressors, man lifts and forklifts.
