Robotics Engineer - Ground Autonomy

About the role

As a Robotics Engineer focusing on ground autonomy, you will design, develop, and field autonomy software for unmanned ground vehicles that operate in complex, unstructured environments. You will own the full autonomy stack, from low‑level control to high‑level mission execution, and see your code run on real machines in real‑world conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement control algorithms for path following, trajectory generation, and vehicle dynamics modeling.
• Develop motion‑planning strategies that adapt to diverse and dynamic terrains while ensuring stability and safety.
• Build and integrate perception pipelines for obstacle detection, terrain analysis, and environmental understanding using camera, lidar, radar, and IMU data.
• Extend and maintain ROS2‑based autonomy stacks, including mission planning, behavior trees, and real‑time navigation logic.
• Collaborate with embedded, hardware, and mission‑software teams to move prototypes to field‑ready deployments.
• Conduct field testing, create performance metrics, diagnose failures, and support live demonstrations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 3 years of professional experience developing C++ and/or Python software in Linux environments.
• Hands‑on experience deploying ROS2‑based autonomy systems on ground platforms.
• Proven ability to design control systems and motion‑planning solutions for autonomous vehicles.
