About the role

Ochsner Clinic Foundation is seeking an experienced Rheumatology physician to join its Gretna, Louisiana campus. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive care for patients with musculoskeletal and immune system disorders, contributing to Ochsner’s mission of healing, education, and innovation.

Key responsibilities

Examine, diagnose, and treat diseases of the musculoskeletal and immune systems.
Consult with patients to determine appropriate treatment plans and order necessary diagnostic tests.
Maintain accurate and complete medical records.
Participate in departmental meetings and organizational initiatives.
Collaborate with consulting physicians, nurses, patients, and families regarding care plans.
Refer patients to specialist services when needed while ensuring continuity of care.
Perform administrative duties related to patient care and department operations.

Required profile

Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.).
Active license to practice medicine in Louisiana.
Completion of a rheumatology fellowship.
