Remedial Speech Teacher – Summer School 2026 (ESY)

About the role

The Buffalo Public Schools are hiring Remedial Speech Teachers for the 2026 Extended School Year (ESY) program. Teachers will deliver speech therapy services to elementary students across three school sites during the summer session.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver age‑appropriate speech instruction in person and/or virtually.
• Develop lesson plans, instructional materials and adapt resources to meet diverse student needs.
• Maintain accurate daily attendance and record‑keeping for each class period.
• Utilize district technology and virtual platforms to support instruction and remote learning when required.
• Collaborate with school staff to monitor student progress and adjust interventions.

Required profile

• Valid New York State or Buffalo certification in Speech (or related) as a teacher.
• Current active employment with Buffalo Public Schools is preferred for seniority consideration.
• Ability to travel between assigned school sites and to provide remote instruction for medically exempt or quarantined students.

Required skills

• Speech‑language pathology techniques for elementary students.
• Proficiency with virtual instruction tools and district technology platforms.
