Reliability Engineer

About the role

Linde Gases U.S. is seeking a Reliability Engineer to support a new facility in Nederland, TX. The role focuses on improving safety, reliability, and efficiency of plant fixed and rotating equipment through engineering expertise applied to maintenance, performance, and operational challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Support commissioning and startup of an Air Separation Unit (ASU) and two ATR units.
• Drive standard practices for preventive and predictive maintenance across responsible sites.
• Establish, monitor, and execute inspections, PMs, and PdMs for mechanical equipment.
• Maintain CMMS effectiveness and ensure spare‑parts availability.
• Analyze data to identify life‑cycle cost reductions and reliability improvements.
• Perform inspections, troubleshooting, failure analysis, and root‑cause investigations.
• Develop and track corrective actions, Standard Maintenance Procedures (SMPs), and maintenance strategies.
• Maintain a bad‑actor list and lead projects to eliminate recurring issues.
• Conduct quarterly IR scans of refractory‑lined equipment and review predictive program results (oil analysis, vibration).
• Ensure accurate BOMs and spare parts for critical equipment.

Required profile

• B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance/reliability engineering within an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Hands‑on experience with compressors, heat exchangers, pumps, chillers, cooling towers, piping, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret P&ID and machinery drawings.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
