Registered Nurse – Post‑Op Surgical Services (Ortho Nights)

About the role

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to provide post‑operative surgical and orthopedic care during night shifts at Ochsner Health in New Orleans. The RN will apply the Nursing Process, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and ensure high‑quality patient outcomes in a fast‑paced surgical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize the Nursing Process to deliver comprehensive patient care.
• Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies for patients and families.
• Delegate, coordinate, and manage nursing team resources and act as a leader on the interdisciplinary team.
• Analyze data and promote changes to achieve optimal clinical outcomes.
• Adapt communication and care approaches to respect cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse diploma (required).
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (preferred).
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• No prior experience required.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time‑management abilities.

• Proficiency with Windows‑style applications and related software packages.
