Registered Nurse – PACU (PRN) – Monroe, LA

About the role

This position provides per‑diem nursing care in the Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at Ochsner’s Monroe facility. The RN will lead patient care using the nursing process while collaborating with interdisciplinary team members.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to deliver safe, high‑quality patient care.
• Assess learning needs of patients and families and implement appropriate teaching strategies.
• Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources, serving as a leader on the interdisciplinary team.
• Analyze data and apply evidence‑based changes to improve patient outcomes.
• Adapt communication and care approaches to respect cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and Ochsner’s privacy and conduct standards.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school (required); Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• No prior work experience required; specialty certification is a plus.
