Registered Nurse – Outpatient Preadmission Testing

About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) in Outpatient Preadmission Testing evaluates patients before surgery or procedures, reviews medical histories, coordinates required tests, and educates patients and families. The role ensures safe, timely, patient‑centered care while collaborating with physicians, anesthesia providers, and the broader care team.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients' health status and develop individualized care plans.
• Review and verify medical histories, labs, and imaging prior to surgery.
• Coordinate and schedule pre‑admission testing and necessary consultations.
• Provide education on surgical preparation, postoperative expectations, and self‑care.
• Document all patient interactions, orders, and care activities accurately.
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia staff, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize surgical outcomes.

Required profile

• Current RN licensure in Florida.
• Experience in Surgery, PACU, Endoscopy, OR/Operating Room, or related interoperability preferred.
• Ability to work full‑time (40 hours/week) Monday‑Friday, 8 am‑5 pm.
• Strong knowledge of ambulatory care nursing practices and age‑specific patient needs.
