Registered Nurse – Inpatient Neuro

About the role

The Inpatient Neuro RN provides direct patient care on the neurology unit, applying the nursing process within the Nurse Practice Act and ANA standards. The role involves leading the nursing team, ensuring quality outcomes, and supporting Ochsner Health’s mission to serve, heal, lead, educate, and innovate.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to deliver safe, evidence‑based patient care.
• Assess learning needs of patients and families and provide tailored education.
• Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources, acting as a leader on the interdisciplinary team.
• Use data and clinical knowledge to drive improvements and achieve optimal outcomes.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and accreditation standards.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• No prior experience required; certification in a clinical specialty area is a plus.

• Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
