Publicity and Communications Executive

About the role

The Publicity and Communications Executive will generate positive publicity for the island of Ireland, targeting US travellers and strengthening the destination’s brand appeal. This role supports both the publicity and consumer marketing teams, integrating earned media with paid campaigns and partnership initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate logistics and itineraries for visiting journalists, influencers, and film crews in Ireland and the US.
• Accompany press trips and ensure smooth media engagement on location.
• Build and maintain relationships with key media contacts, industry stakeholders, and internal colleagues.
• Identify new media contacts aligned with business priorities such as luxury, culinary, outdoor activities, sustainable travel, and business events.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute in‑person events including the annual Marketing Plan Launch, ministerial visits, media receptions, and sales missions.
• Project‑manage events in collaboration with the publicity, communications, and cross‑departmental teams.
• Represent Tourism Ireland at industry, press, and corporate events as required.
• Collaborate with the Advertising and Consumer Engagement team to develop earned storylines that support major partnerships and sponsorships.

Required profile

• Proven experience in media relations and event management within a tourism or destination marketing context.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including travel and occasional work outside normal business hours.
• Strong communication skills and the capacity to manage multiple stakeholder relationships.
