Project Engineer – Capital Projects (Springfield, MO)

About the role

3M is seeking a Project Engineer to lead capital engineering projects that drive growth, cost reduction, EHS improvement, and equipment/facility renewal. You will work with multidisciplinary teams across the globe and apply core project‑engineering fundamentals to deliver successful outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead capital projects supporting growth, cost reduction, EHS improvement, and equipment/facility renewal.
• Manage cross‑functional teams including electrical, facilities, design, technical experts, and operations.
• Apply project engineering fundamentals such as scope definition, budgeting, scheduling, forecasting, communication, and financial analysis.
• Travel up to 25% domestically or internationally as required.

Required profile

• Associate’s Degree/Technical Diploma with 5 years of combined engineering, manufacturing, or project‑management experience, OR Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of similar experience.
• Additional 5 years of capital equipment or facilities project management experience is preferred.
• Experience with webline, extrusion, material handling, or inspection equipment.
• Proficiency with business, office, and technical software for spreadsheet computation and project presentation/scheduling.
