Production Supervisor

About the role

CooperSurgical, a global provider of medical devices, fertility and genomics solutions, is looking for a Production Supervisor. The role coordinates all manufacturing activities within production and ensures quality and safety are practiced during the manufacturing operation. It also owns the payroll process and employee development for the team, and takes part in the production transfer and validation project team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all manufacturing activities for assigned production cells and monitor staffing to meet daily production needs, working with Planning on long-term capacity.
• Develop and apply metrics to measure individual and department performance, and develop cell leaders.
• Handle shift personnel development, including coaching, training, performance appraisals and hiring and onboarding assistance.
• Manage employee relations with Human Resources and management so company policies are followed.
• Manage quality, cost and schedules to meet internal and external customer requirements, troubleshoot process problems and coordinate corrective and preventive maintenance with technicians and engineers.
• Run all production equipment and identify opportunities for improvement with management.
• Manage payroll for production employees in Kronos and answer first-level salary questions.
• Assist in transferring equipment and operator knowledge, and in the production transfer validation process.
• Develop training processes and metrics for operator development, and coordinate break schedules with production needs and cafeteria availability.
• Promote a positive work environment aligned with the company's mission, vision and values, and apply disciplinary actions as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering.
• At least two years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience delivering training with good presentation skills; Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to travel to the United States for training and development in current operations.
• Passing of a background check, which may include verification of prior employment, criminal conviction history, education and driving records.

Required skills

• Detailed, organized self-starter with good analytical skills.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
