Production Operator 2 – D Shift – Lathing

About the role

The Production Operator 2 works the D shift in a contact lens manufacturing environment, operating lathing and injection molding equipment to produce high‑quality lenses. The role follows strict SOPs, contributes to continuous improvement, and offers exposure to advanced, quality‑critical stages of production.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas while applying continuous‑improvement methods.
• Operate specialized automated lathing, injection‑molding, and metrology equipment to meet production goals.
• Strictly follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory requirements.
• Flexibly support other production areas as business needs dictate.
• Participate in lean/Six Sigma projects and lead team activities.
• Assist coordinators and technicians in workflow management.
• Work extended hours or mandatory overtime to achieve department targets.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Effective verbal and written communication in English to read and apply SOPs.
• Proficiency in operating and basic troubleshooting of automated equipment.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and attention to detail.
• Commitment to personal and professional continuous improvement.
• Solid understanding of FDA regulations, cGMP, and GMP standards.
• Basic mathematical skills and computer experience, including Microsoft Excel.
• Reliability in attendance and adherence to changing work schedules.
