Product Specialist – Motion Control Systems

About the role

The Motion Control Product Specialist will drive sales growth across an assigned territory by providing technical expertise, product support, and strategic guidance for motion control solutions. This position works closely with customers, sales teams, manufacturers and internal departments to identify opportunities, develop solutions and increase revenue.

Key responsibilities

• Promote and sell VFD, servo drive, PLC, HMI and motion‑control products, sizing and commissioning systems based on customer requirements.
• Act as the subject‑matter expert, delivering product selection advice, application support and technical training to customers and sales representatives.
• Prepare proposals, quotations and pricing, and maintain strong relationships with customers, manufacturers and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal teams (customer service, marketing, pricing, purchasing) to meet customer needs and support forecasting and inventory planning.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in a technical field (Bachelor’s preferred) with at least 2 years of experience in automation, industrial sales or engineering.
• Hands‑on experience with at least one of the following: PLC, HMI, VFD or Servo Drive, preferably Siemens equipment.
• Proven ability to balance customer requirements with commercial objectives and to travel regularly within Michigan/Ohio.
• Valid driver’s license and strong verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• VFD and Servo Drive sizing and commissioning.
• PLC and HMI programming and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of AC Vector and Servo Control.
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
